Pizza Rolls

  • 500g/1.1 lbs plain flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 21g/0.7 oz fresh yeast or 7 g dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2.5dl/8.8 fl oz lukewarm water
  • 200g/7 oz pepperoni
  • 1 onion (thin sliced)
  • 375ml/13 fl oz tomato sauce
  • 400g/14 oz grated cheese
  • Salt, pepper and dried herbs

Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6. Grind the yeast in a large bowl. Pour in lukewarm water and let dissolve. Add the olive oil, egg yolk and mix in the flour and salt. Work the dough smooth. Let rise 30 minutes. Roll the dough into a large rectangle. If you wish, make 2 smallerrectangles. Brush the dough with tomato sauce and addthe pepperoni slices, sliced onion and sprinkle with gratedcheese. Gently roll up. Cut about 24 pieces of 2,5 cm of the roll. Place pizza rolls upright in a lightly greased muffin pan with the swirled side up. Bake for about 12 minutes.
